The condition a consignor selects when they upload is a starting point, not the final word. You inspect every item in person when it arrives, and nothing goes live for buyers until you have confirmed it. This page explains how that works.
You inspect every item on arrival
When a consignment reaches you, check each item by hand before you list it. Look at the things photos can miss: fabric wear, odour, pilling, stretched seams, missing buttons, marks, and the inside of the garment as well as the outside. Ragpiq does not accept items with offensive content, odour, holes, stains, worn fabric, or missing buttons, so this is your chance to catch anything that should not be listed.
Your in-person check is the one that counts. If your assessment differs from what the consignor selected, your assessment is the one that goes on the listing.
The AI grades from your HD photos
When you photograph an item, Ragpiq's AI lister suggests a condition grade and a price from the images. It weighs the item against market demand, brand, size, and visible condition on a 1 to 5 scale:
| Grade | Condition | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| 5 | Brand new | Never used, with original tags or packaging. Only minor manufacturing or handling marks. |
| 4 | Excellent | Minimal to no signs of use. May lack tags. Any defects are barely noticeable. |
| 3 | Good | Used but well cared for. Minor defects that do not detract from use or look. |
| 2 | Fair | Extensively used with noticeable wear, but still fully functional. |
| 1 | Poor | Heavily worn with significant defects. Listed only when the original value was high. |
The AI is there to speed you up, not to decide for you. It will not always be right, especially on condition, because some wear only shows in person. Treat its suggestion as a draft you confirm or correct.
Items stay unpriced until you confirm
Every processed item lists as "unpriced" first. While an item is unpriced it shows in the consignor's wardrobe and can receive offers, but it is not yet on sale. The consignor is notified by email that their items are in their wardrobe, where they can review the details too.
Once you have checked the item, confirmed its condition, and set the price, you flip it to live. On the listing, tap the signal icon next to the item to switch it into LIVE mode so buyers can purchase it instantly.
You have the final say before LIVE
An item only goes on sale when you turn it live. Until then the condition and price are yours to confirm or adjust. The consignor's claim about condition never reaches buyers without your check.
