Checkout

Checkout is your till. Add what the customer is buying, take the payment, and every consignor in the cart is paid out together.

  • On the web: Checkout, in the dock beside Check-in.
  • In the Ragpiq Store app: the Checkout tab, which also has Tap to Pay and the barcode scanner.

Needs an internet connection. You can mix consignor items and your own stock in one cart.

Building the cart

  1. Search your live inventory and add items.
  2. Adjust any price in the cart if you have agreed something different.
  3. Add a discount, if you are giving one.

In the store app, scan a printed label with the camera to add an item instantly. The web till has no scanner by design, since the phone is the one with a camera in your hand.

Discounts

Two kinds, and you can use both at once.

  • Off one item: tap Discount under that line.
  • Off the whole sale: tap Discount the sale under the cart.

Each takes either a dollar amount or a percentage. Item discounts come off first, then the sale discount applies to what is left.

A sale discount is shared, not absorbed

A discount off the whole sale is spread across the items in proportion, so each consignor's share drops with it. Your margin is not quietly covering the difference.

How they pay

Three options. Point of sale only appears once you have a till connected.

OptionWhat happens
Point of saleGoes to your own card reader or register.
Instant payoutRagpiq charges your saved card and pays the consignor now.
Mark as soldRecords the sale. The payout stays owed.

Point of sale covers Square, Lightspeed and Shopify POS. With one connected it just goes there. With more than one, Ragpiq asks which till, with your usual one already chosen. See Point of Sale to set them up.

Tap to Pay lives in the store app, not the web till.

Store credit

A consignor's store credit can only be spent here, nowhere else.

Enter their code on the summary step and it comes off what is still to pay.

Credit and your own POS don't mix

Store credit is available on Instant payout and Mark as sold only. The card machine and the two register handoffs price the cart themselves, so taking credit as well would charge the customer twice for the same dollars.

After the sale

  • Each consignor is notified and their payout recorded.
  • The item is delisted from any marketplace it was live on.
  • Sold stock is removed from your connected POS catalogues.

Tap History at the top of Checkout to see what you have rung up recently.
