When you upload your clothing to Ragpiq, you're not selling it yourself — you're partnering with a verified reseller who handles the entire selling process for you. In return, that reseller takes a commission, which is a percentage of the final sale price. You'll see the proposed commission rate in every offer you receive.
The commission rate is set by the reseller, not by Ragpiq. It reflects the work they'll be doing — including photography, listing across multiple marketplaces, messaging buyers, and managing delivery. Once your item sells, the sale amount is automatically split based on the agreed rate.
Fixed Rate Commissions
Most resellers on Ragpiq offer a fixed rate commission, meaning the percentage they take from the final sale price remains the same regardless of what the item sells for. This makes it simple and predictable — you'll know exactly what portion of the sale you'll receive as soon as you accept the offer.
Variable Commission
Some resellers on Ragpiq offer a variable commission rate, which means the percentage they take depends on the final sale price of your item. Instead of a fixed cut, the commission is calculated along a sliding scale — with higher-value sales typically earning you a better return.
Ragpiq uses a linear gradient system to calculate this. Each reseller sets two reference points:
- A low-end price with a higher commission rate
- A high-end price with a lower commission rate
The commission for any sale between those price points is calculated along a straight line between the two. As the sale price increases, the commission rate decreases smoothly and proportionally.
