Partner Store FAQ

If you run a resale or consignment store and you are weighing up Ragpiq, these are the five questions we hear most. Each answer links to the full detail in our reseller docs.

Do I control the condition and quality of what gets listed?

Yes. You inspect every item in person when it arrives, and you have the final say. The condition a consignor selects when they upload is only a starting point. When you photograph an item, our AI suggests a condition grade and price from the HD images, but you confirm or correct it. Every item stays "unpriced" and off sale until you turn it live, so nothing reaches buyers without your check.

How competitive are the offers, and how do I win consignments?

Consignments come to you two ways: direct requests from consignors who sought out your store, and the public map where stores make competing offers. Consignors compare your commission rate, your store's track record and reach, and your message, then choose. The message is your biggest lever, and early offers get seen first. Offers stay open for 48 hours.

How much back and forth is there with a consignor after they accept?

Not much. Once a consignor accepts your offer, most of the relationship is automated. Ragpiq sends the delivery confirmation, the wardrobe updates, the payout, and the notifications. Your hands-on steps are short: confirm delivery, list the items, reply to the occasional chat message, and arrange a reclaim in the rare case one is requested.

Who is responsible if an item is lost, damaged, or stolen in my store?

You are, while the item is in your care, and that is the standard arrangement for any consignment store. Under Australian law a store that holds goods to sell on commission is a "bailee for reward", which means you must take reasonable care of items in your possession and you are responsible if something happens to them on your watch. You should carry business insurance that covers other people's goods in your care. Ragpiq does not take custody of items and does not insure them, but we keep the responsibilities clear and help work through any claim.

How does Ragpiq fit alongside the way I already run my store?

Ragpiq sits on top of your existing workflow rather than replacing it. It brings you consignors and their stock, lists items with AI assistance, cross-lists to marketplaces like eBay, Depop, and Shopify, runs an in-store POS, and syncs payouts to consignors automatically. You keep selling the way you do now, with less manual admin around sourcing, listing, and paying people.
