FAQ

Everything you’d probably ask.

Common questions from buyers and sellers.

Selling

We take pieces worth $100 or more. Sometimes we'll still consider a piece that's a bit under, so feel free to upload it.

We price them. You film what you're clearing out, and every piece comes back with one fixed price.

You never have to set a price yourself. If a price feels low, you can ask for a better one from your offer and we'll take another look.

Your offer stays open for 24 hours, and we'll remind you before it ends. If it runs out, tap Ask for a new offer.

You choose piece by piece. Instant cash pays you once we've checked your pieces in. Consign it means a store sells it for you, and your share lands in your Wallet when it sells. Don't want to sell a piece? Tap it and choose Pass.

Once you accept, choose how to get your pieces to us: book an Uber pick-up in the app, send them with Australia Post, or drop them at our Collingwood office. See Delivery Options.

Take the instant cash and you're paid once we've checked your pieces in. Some pieces are authenticated first, which usually takes 2 to 3 hours, then the money goes to your Wallet.

Consign a piece and your share appears in your Wallet when it sells. Save your bank details in Wallet early, as nothing can be paid out until they're there.

Selling costs you nothing: Ragpiq's fee is charged to the store, out of their share of the sale, and never comes off your payout.

The one cost is getting your pieces to us. An Uber pick-up fare or a postage label comes off your payout, unless it's free.

Your first pick-up is free, up to $35, if you joined through a friend's link or one of our ads. Otherwise the fare comes off your payout.

Invite a friend from Settings, and when their first bag reaches us, your pick-up fare comes back, up to $35. Your second friend earns another free pick-up, and your third a $50 gift voucher.

Take the instant cash and a piece becomes Ragpiq's once you're paid. Consign it and it stays yours until it sells.

Yes. A consigned piece stays yours until it sells, and you can end a consignment at any time from the piece. Collecting it is free. Posting it back costs the postage and return fee shown.

Every consignment runs for a set period, usually 8 to 18 weeks, set by the store that holds the piece. About a week before it ends, we ask what you'd like to happen: discount it and keep it listed, take it back, sell it to the store for cash, or donate it.

No. We check authenticity ourselves, so you can send pieces without receipts or tags.

The one exception: if your account has a strike for a replica, we may ask for proof of purchase before we make an offer on a designer piece.

We may have a piece checked by an independent authentication service. If it is found to be a replica, you pay for what follows:

  • the $15 authentication check
  • the postage to send it back to you, if you choose to have it posted
  • anything we paid you for it, such as instant cash

Each one shows in your wallet. We take it from your next payout, or from the bank account you gave us for payouts.

You have 14 days to collect it, have it posted back, or send us proof of purchase. After that, we may dispose of it. A replica also puts a strike on your account.

While a consigned piece is with us, or with a partner store we've placed it with, we hold it for you and stay responsible to you for its care. If something is lost or damaged, tell us through the app and we'll work it through with you.

Before your pieces reach us, while they're with you or in the post, they're at your own risk unless we arranged the delivery.

Items that include any offensive content, contain odour, visible holes, stains, worn fabric, and missing buttons.

Not yet for everyone. Buying is open to our retail partners now, and coming soon for everyone.

You'll get a push notification and an email. Messages from us land in your Inbox in the app.

Guide

You film what you're clearing out in the Ragpiq app and we price every piece. You choose how you get paid: instant cash once we've checked your pieces in, or more as each piece sells through one of our partner stores. Then you send your pieces in by Uber pick-up, Australia Post, or drop-off at our Collingwood office.

Major Bugs: These stop you and most other users from using Ragpiq and have top priority. We work on these immediately and continuously until they are fixed.

Medium Bugs: These are inconvenient and affect some users but don't prevent key actions in the app. They are proactively addressed and usually fixed in the latest app version. Always keep your app updated to avoid known issues.

Minor Bugs: These are trivial issues affecting a small number of users and don't impact key actions in the app. They are addressed based on priority and may take longer to resolve, but we will not lose track of them.

We aim to keep the app running smoothly, but sometimes things don't work as expected. Our engineering teams prioritize major bugs over other tasks.
